Apollo Home Launches Apollo Cares
Apollo Home is thrilled to announce a new home for our charitable and philanthropic projects. It’s called Apollo Home Cares and is our program to contribute to our Greater Cincinnati communities.
Recently, we sponsored a service dog through a local organization Rescued & Ready Inc. and Operation: Walking with Warriors. They trained a rescue dog, Echo, for a new life with Marine veteran Samuel Deeds.
Currently, we’ve partnered with St. Vincent de Paul to gift a heating and cooling system to a deserving family.
Know Someone Who Needs Heating and Air Relief?
Applications for the current giveaway will be accepted beginning March 1, 2019, through a web form. Submissions will be accepted through March 31, 2019. Representatives from St. Vincent de Paul and Apollo Home will select a deserving household from the entries received and notify the winner in April 2019.
Designed to help a Cincinnati-area family who has a financial and/or health-related need, the giveaway provides a functional or upgraded heating and air system. Finalists will receive a visit from an Apollo Home technician to determine eligibility and status of current central heating and cooling system, if any.
“We’re thrilled to partner with another fantastic organization in Cincinnati, St. Vincent de Paul, for this giveaway,” said Jamie Gerdsen, Apollo Home CEO. “I’m proud our company is civic-minded; so many of our team members volunteer through their schools, churches and other community organizations.”
“We know first-hand how heating and air transforms a home. There are many Cincinnati residents who have health issues complicated by a lack of proper heating and cooling. Too much humidity in the spring and summer, for example, triggers symptoms for those living with asthma, COPD and cardiac situations,” said Gerdsen.
Apollo Home
Apollo Home has served the home comfort needs of the greater Cincinnati area since 1910. Beginning with heating, Apollo Home later incorporated the “new invention” of air conditioning in the 1950s. Since then, Apollo Home added plumbing and electrical services as well as air quality solutions and maintenance agreements into their company to better serve Cincinnati residents.
As a 3rd generation, family-owned business, Apollo Home strives every day to exceed the whole-home services needs for homeowners. Fueled by a drive to serve, Apollo Home has received awards such as Contractors of the Year from the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and an A+ Accredited Business rating from the Better Business Bureau.
St. Vincent de Paul
For more than 150 years, the Cincinnati District Council has worked with Cincinnati and Hamilton County neighbors. More than 900 volunteers live their faith in service to others whether it’s offering comfort to those alone, food to a single parent, or coats to last the cold Ohio winters.
St. Vincent de Paul works personally via home visits to those in needs. This personalization is a hallmark of our service to the “dispersed poor” in neighborhoods throughout greater Cincinnati. Regardless of creed or race, we offer spiritual, emotional and material assistance where needed.
Although affiliated with an international association, we are very much a grassroots effort. The Cincinnati Council raises money and personalizes programs specific to the needs of our local residents.
Where applicable, we draw on best practices of other councils but our focus is always on what’s most effective for our local community. We are “neighbors helping neighbors.”
