NATE Logo: An Affiliation to Look For With HVAC Companies
You never hope for HVAC equipment problems, but when they arise, there’s no better company to contact than one that displays the NATE logo.
This affiliation helps you rest assured that the service you receive is the quality you expect, and here’s why.
NATE, or North American Technician Excellence
This nonprofit organization offers certification for HVAC technicians. NATE was founded in 1997 and has become the nation’s leading certification organization. It’s the only one of its kind that’s governed, owned, operated, developed and supported by the entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) .
The NATE logo and affiliation
The NATE logo on a company’s website means their technicians are rigorously tested, not merely trained and sent out into the field. Candidates for NATE may earn additional certifications in a number of relevant specialties, such as air conditioning, heat pumps, furnaces, hydronics and more. This makes them incredibly knowledgeable in the areas you expect them to be.
Consumer Reports has stated, “It’s a plus if technicians are certified by NATE.” It’s true; consumers are 24 percent more likely to be satisfied with the work performed by a NATE-certified tech than a technician without this certification.
Calling in a NATE-certified professional
When you call a technician with NATE certification, they can complete many different tasks.
- Install new equipment correctly – This is vital for peak system performance and energy efficiency.
- Check equipment to ensure proper installation – When something goes wrong with your HVAC system, you probably assume that the equipment is at fault. However, improper installation performed by a technician without NATE certification could be to blame. A quick evaluation could save you a bundle in unnecessary repair costs.
- Offer tips for running equipment more efficiently – Don’t jump to conclusions about your energy bills, blaming the utility company for high costs. Instead, the next time a NATE technician is doing an evaluation, ask for operational tips to help lower your energy bills.
