If you want a well-paying career helping people and solving problems, join us for ongoing plumber training, competitive benefits and a family-focused company culture.
There are multiple opportunities right now for high school graduates or those who may have work experience and want to transition to a new career. As a generation of plumbers retire, Apollo Home is offering paid training to meet the demand of the growing home services industry.
Apollo Home’s Apprenticeship Program for Plumbers
For more than 100 years, Apollo Home has served the tri-state area. To address the talent shortage, Apollo Home’s Apprenticeship Program combines several weeks of classroom education, hands-on application, offsite training and ride-alongs with current plumber personnel. Apollo Home supports graduates on his or her way to a plumber license and journeyman status.
There is no cost to students to participate and Apollo Home pays them a wage during training. Past participants have found this training wage helpful because it allowed them to earn an income while “in school” without having to find a second job, like most college students. Being paid to learn a trade also allowed them more time to spend with friends and family and to be a part of their communities.
Compared to most vocational schools and four-year colleges, the successful completion of the Apollo Home Apprenticeship provides graduates with a career instead of student debt.
Plumber Training Valued Up to $20,000
Graduates can expect to have the knowledge to handle jobs involving:
- Water heaters
- Sump pumps
- Toilets
- Water purification
- Garbage disposals
- Faucets
- Sinks and drains and
- Tubs and shower valves.
Graduates will be able to expertly explain the difference between drain clearing and drain cleaning as well as fix problems with water lines and sewer pipes.
Says Jamie Gerdsen, CEO of Apollo Home, “We’re first looking for the right kind of person. We want graduates who match our core values, such as an eagerness to learn and to find solutions, to help people and who know the importance of doing the right thing. Personality can’t be taught, but we can teach you how to be an amazing plumber. We sincerely care about a student’s success, because we, as a company, are only as successful as our people.”
Incredible and Competitive Benefits for Apollo Home Employees
Apollo Home offers an interest-free loan program so graduates can easily purchase the tools they’ll need right away. Apollo Home contributes to a plumber’s work/life balance by providing a truck so he or she can head home from the last job of the day.
“This makes family life easier when our people can head straight to the family dinner table, continued Gerdsen. “Apollo Home appreciates family time and supports our people having more of it.”
